When the pain in your hip reaches the point where it affects the quality of your life, it may be time to consider hip replacement surgery. Advancements in surgical techniques and implant technologies have dramatically improved outcomes for this procedure, including the time required for hip surgery recovery.
Hip Surgery and Recovery at the Zehr Center
Even with the most successful primary total hip replacements, there may come a time when a patient who has undergone total hip surgery requires revision hip surgery. The most common reason for the revision of a total hip replacement is loosening of the stem on the femoral (thigh bone) or acetabular (cup or socket) side. This can occur with or without infection. The surgeon removes the old implant and replaces it with a new one.
Hip replacement surgery is a complex procedure, and Dr. Zehr is one of Southwest Floridas most experienced joint revision surgeons.
