When the pain in your hip reaches the point where it affects the quality of your life, it may be time to consider a total hip replacement.  Advancements in surgical techniques and implant technologies have dramatically reduced hip replacement complications and improved outcomes for these procedures, including the time required for hip replacement recovery. A swift recovery from hip replacement surgery.

Hip Replacement Operation, Complications and Recovery

Even with the most successful hip replacements, there may come a time when a patient who has undergone total hip surgery requires revision hip surgery. The most common reason for a hip replacement revision is loosening of the stem on the femoral (thigh bone) or acetabular (cup or socket) side. This can occur with or without infection. In a prosthetic hip replacement the surgeon removes the old implant and replaces it with a new one.

A hip replacement operation is a complex procedure, and Dr. Zehr is one of Southwest Florida’s most experienced joint revision surgeons. You can watch a hip replacement video here.
